Default My hearing going bad?

07 ultra classic
55k miles
When this thing was new and you put the bike in starting position you would hear the fuel pump run to prime the system.

Lately I don't hear the pump prime up. It starts and runs OK. I check the charging system/battery and everything is up to normal numbers there.

Is this normal, I will not try to define normal, or is my fuel pump on its last leg. If this thing goes out I want it to be on my time frame not its.

BTW several years ago I had the issue where I did have low fuel pressure and it turned out to be a hole in one of the hoses in the tank. That was replaced and the fuel pressure was back within specs, don't know if that is still the case.

Should I be concerned or do I need to go get my hearing checked? That would not be the only thing that has broken down with the old body lately!!!

Have someone else, younger, listen. But even though you don't hear it, and it starts ok, then it has to be running.

Thanks for the test. I passed the I'm alive one without any problem. Got to the 15k and failed. But since I'm in the late 60's I guess that aint to bad.

I'm an old OK farm kid. After all the years of driving the farm stuff you get to the point where you can tell when something is going bad by the way it sounds, unless your cutting corn then its broke when you can not hear anything. Ya it does start and appears to run ok.....but since it use to make the noise and now it doesn't the farmer in me is asking "ok what has changed"? If lack of the noise means that the pump is starting to go bad then I want to change it before I get 500 miles out in the boonies with no cell service.

Thought I would just ask to see if this is common with the miles and its not a big deal or if it is on the down hill side of working.

Thanks.

FWIW... I took the test and couldn't hear anything but I can hear the pump on both my bikes. My ears have been listening for 72 years now!
