I used to cable lock it to the bike, but now I usually just carry it around with me in the store, or toss it in the cart if I'm grocery shopping. I never even get a glance.
Never had one stolen. Had a helmet lock on the bar of my 93 heritage. Some dbag cut the strap off of it. And was nice enough to leave the helmet on the seat. Strap still attached to bars.
I would think whoever stole it isn't looking to wear it, but rather Craig's List it.
Who would buy a used helmet? Is there really a market for them?
Good luck stealing my sunglasses, they're prescription and my eyes are really bad. A person with normal eyesight would probably puke as soon as they look through them.
I hear that thieves are stealing the helmets in hopes that you will leave the bike behind to go get another, then they steal the bike. I leave my helmet on my bike all the time, luckily it has never been stolen.
I had my helmet stolen off the handlebar outside my daughter's apartment in Los Angeles. Best part was, I had dropped it on the concrete during the trip to Cali from Vancouver, Canada, and it was effed.
Anyway, I'd love to say I rode home without a bucket, but if did get a new lid for the trip back - and a helmet lock for the engine guard for when my tour pack is full of gear.
Scum bags.
I hate thieves, especially when it comes to my bike. That being said, if I were a thief I'm not sure I would steal something from someone called "fasteddie" Maybe put your name on the bike lol
When I was young I swear people feared us. Maybe they thought we were all Hell's Angels. I miss the days when I could leave my leather coat, helmet, gloves and glasses on the bike all day and no one would touch them.
