Bought a Deka brand battery for $119 at local hardware store. I could have drove 75 miles to the nearest HD store and paid $180 for the same battery !! You figure it out partner !

This is like asking which oil to run but I last went with Interstate. Decent deal on a good battery. Before that I ran an Odyssey and got a decent life out of it. Pretty sure I got it from Batteries Plus??? Next one may possibly be lithium ion unless I am stuck.

If I want a battery that I know will get the job done, and price is no object, the OEM battery is what I'll buy, hands down. That said, the lithium ion batteries have got me interested...and the Deka etc batteries from the battery stores might get the nod next time...what I'm most interested in when I buy a battery, other than overall quality, is CCA...the higher the better for me, although my Street Glide is stock...

For me, weight isn't an issue...on my last scooter, where the battery box hung off the frame on those rubber isolators, weight WAS a factor, and the next battery going in that one was gonna be a lithium ion, for weight AND CCA reasons! But, I put a Harley battery in it previously, and it was over six years old when I got rid of the bike, and I kept a Battery Tender on it religiously...

To me, use of a Battery Tender is more important than the brand of the battery, as long as you aren't buying an El Cheapo...even the batteries at Walmart are a good quality unit.

When I tried the advance auto link and it told me that battery wouldn't fit in a 09 ultra. And when I tried the promo code wd37 some else suggested it wouldn't work. I would like to buy a 400 coca battery

My 2010 came with the 'factory' battery and since day one, was always sluggish at start-up and when the motor was hot, would sometimes hesitate for a split second. Battery was still in good condition but at $100 for the Big Crank, the difference is night and day now starting the bike. Maybe the 400 CCA vs. the 300 CCA has something to do with it. I live the mild climate of the north bay in California and the bike is garaged. And, the 'factory' battery has been on a dealer-installed battery tender from day one. If not riding, it's plugged in.

People should buy whatever battery they want, from wherever they want, and pay whatever the want, of course, just explaining my OEM battery and why I replaced it and didn't even consider one from my local dealer.

Yes the Advance Auto battery is 400 CCA. Look at the link.

I spoke with East Penn Manufacturing about their motorcycle batteries this summer. The technician told me that if you purchase a HD OEM battery that it is made by EPM. They also make the numerous brands included in the battery poll on this forum. EPM said the difference is how the post is made whether it has to locations to mount the cables or just one and whose label is on the outside. So i have a harley label on my Advance Auto battery then wow it becomes a Harley Battery no wait I didn't pay the extra money so it must not be as good.

They are the exact same battery internally. Spend your money with whatever makes you satisfied. Its your money.

Bought my Yuasa 500 CCA battery from Phat Performance. I got it THE NEXT DAY. No hesitation on startup, even when hot. I'm very happy.
