Your PayPal option is only available because you didn't send it as a gift. Once you send money as a gift you are out of luck with any support from PayPal. I always send it as a payment even if I have to cover the minimal PayPal fees.... Good luck on our claim. My experience with PayPal leads me to believe they will support you in this claim.

IMO anyone selling items on here and asking to send paypal funds as a gift or pay the fees are in violation of the rules for selling here on the forum. I may be wrong on that but that's the way I understand what I read.

I don't think it was a rule, more so a warning and a statement that the forum is not responsible for anyone's ignorance.

Per PayPals rules, specifically rule 4.5 it states:

4.5 No Surcharges. You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions.

If it is determined that you are violating this policy by demanding a fee for using PayPal your thread will be immediately pulled without warning.

IT says rule. with removal. I sure see alot of listings with pay pal fees
