Had surgery in April (removed stomach due to cancer), while in the hospital contracted Sepsis. I will spare you the rest & say that I was confined to a hospital bed from April till August. During that time all I wanted was wind therapy. I had to wait to November to get back on my scoot. I rode but I had limitations like having trouble holding up my scoot. Riding from point A to Point B was no problem, just the stop & go plus the hills. I had been told by my doctors I was not going to be strong as I was in my legs, I just didn't believe them. Unfortunately they were right. So at the young age of 46 I decided a trike was the way to go.
I bought my 2016 Freewheeler yesterday & I love it, yes I miss the lean but the I still get my wind therapy & thats what counts.

Hope everyone has a good one.
i know where you are coming from. i had along stay in the hospital and long rehab and all i could think of was getting back on a bike. tri-glide filled the bill for me. good luck to you !

MikeyTX, I thank you for the input, I will continue to research,I noticed that as I age, I'm not as agile as[ I think] I used to be, I know a trike is in my future, and am looking forward rather than back......ride safe

Another drawback with converting a 2 wheel bike to a trike is insurance. Most companies I have dealt with consider the conversion kit an "accessory" and limit the total accessory coverage to 20 percent of the bike price. For example, with a 20k 2 wheeler, you can cover only an additional 4k. That does not even come close to covering a trike conversion kit actual cost. Getting full coverage for a Triglide is easy. I demolished a Lehman FLHTCUI conversion in 2004 and had to fight like hell to get the money it took to repair the thing.

I went through a bunch of crap getting Nationwide to understand that my TG was a factory model, complete with VIN. It took me getting really angry and stating some facts loudly to get them to even look at the VIN as proof, even after I got an appraisal and certification from a Harley dealer.

GEICO immediately insured my TG, with no problems.

Totally understand. My transition to 3 wheels was natural for me and I will never go back to 2.

Progressive insured mine with no questions, too, but the second year, the premium went up to almost $1000 a year so I started shopping for lower cost insurance. Nationwide gave me a good price after all the grief was over.
About $545 a year.

You guys are lucky, we are unable to register the Trikes in Singapore as it exceeds 400KG on a motorcycle!

We have 20k additional accessory coverage on our 2011 Street Glide/Hannigan conversion, from Progressive
Premium was $600/yr the first year and dropped to $525, for this year.

Why three wheels? Because, that's what my wife and prefer.
