For want of a taller top gear...
Several times I've found myself pulling out on a freeway, accelerating somewhat aggressively, and going through the gears somewhat rapidly. Then on my final up shift attempt , it won't go any higher. So, my brain seems to want to shift into a gear that isn't there. This typically happens at 80 or above.
With the larger transmission sprocket of the TriGlide than the base Ultra, the motor is spinning about 3,200 RPMs at 70 MPH...which is fine and comfortable. But, at 80 MOH, the motor is spinning at about 3600 RPMs.
So, I thought that since I do tend to run above the upper 70s frequently, it would be nice to have one more gear with a ratio 10% bigger than the current 6th gear.
The Baker 7 speed doesn't do the trick, as they moved all the ratios, and have the same top ratio as the HD OEM 6 speed,
Also, just figuring out how to change out 6th gear would be too large of a jump from 5th.
Does this bother anyone else?
Is there a solution, that doesn't give up on the low speed grunt we get out of the larger transmission sprocket?
Thoughts?

I haven't come across anything for the primary to change the gearing and lower RPM, most are looking to go the opposite direction. Only real option is transmission sprocket from 30 to 32 tooth if you're riding a 11 and later TG. IMO it'll be a pig taking off and riding around at anything less than 3,000 rpm.
