Default Trailer to Haul Trike

Please don’t beat me up for this but I will be looking for anenclosed trailer to haul my Trike once I get it. My vehicle is rated up to 3,600 pounds towingcapability. The ideal trailer would beno larger than necessary, as light as possible and have a tandem axle. I’m currently looking at Featherlite andAluma trailers. Anybody have otherrecommendations?

Not sure why I have words running together in my post but it won't allow me to edit them. I guess the message is still clear.

It wont let you edit because you should be riding the trike, not trailering it!!

Seriously though, why tandem axle? You said 3600lbs towing capacity. Well the trike weighs 1200, throw in additional gear and the weight of the trailer and youre at 3600 or maybe even more with a tandem axle trailer. The trike isnt heavy enough to warrant tandem axle. Id be looking for a small aluminum enclosed single axle trailer.

Unless you decide to go bigger than "just big enough for the trike" and then Id be looking at tandem axle, and needing a new vehcle with a higher towing capacity.

You also need to take a look at what your max tongue weight is.

A lot of good info in your vehicles owners manual.
I tend to go bigger than I need, then I cane add more stuff, BUT that runs in to FINACE. I personally like a dual axle, I find them easier to back, they don't "cut" as quickly as a single.
just my .02

Look at Iron Horse. Depends on how much you are willing to spend.

I have a 6X10 and it just fits. I would go with a 7X12 V nose. Should be plenty big and overtax your vehicle. Dual axle has the advantage of brakes on the trailer, and you can get a 7X12 with dual axle. Another nice feature is torsion suspension vs leaf springs.
Aluminum is nice but very pricy...if anyone wants an open trailer there is one for sale on the Goldwing site, Aluma TK1, all aluminum Tri,e trailer with a hidden ramp, 1600.00 very good price.

Actually I'm not convinced I need a tandem axle and won't rule out a single axle. Thanks for the replies.

I second the Iron Horse, and I can speak from experience, they are worth the money. We have had ours for about a year, trailer every weekend to our lake home (have too much to carry to ride trike). We have made a trip from WI to Tennessee, and another out to Yellowstone, and a third to Sturgis. I know we should ride to these places, but we go for long trips and carry too much to do on the trike.
There is another thread on this subject that might be of interest.

And there are probably a lot more like it.
