Default Reverse on a '14

I am needing to mash the reverse button several times before reverse kicks in. Anyone else having this trouble? Kinda annoying. I don't use reverse very much but when I do this gets a tad frustrating.

As long as you are in neutral, don't accidentally have the parking brake engaged, or are holding the brakes...this is not normal. Time for a visit to your dealer.

By the way, not related to your issue, but I find reverse is happier if I rev the engine to about 1,500 to 2,000 RPMs. Keeps the voltage up, and reduces chance of popping the circuit breaker.

Default Reverse is fine, read the instructions

After going back to the instruction book, it says to hold the reverse button until the R light comes on, on the dash. Then let out the clutch, parking brake and hand brake. Then when you hit the reverse it will move the bike. Make sure the breaker is not tripped, lever stays in , red button will be up. I was having trouble with the breaker tripping and I did not even use the reverse. I tried it on my drive way and it pushed the Trike up my driveway and did not trip. About50 ft. Another thing is sometimes the reverse motor stays engaged in the gear so you have to rock the Trike to undo it. After using the reverse, you should start to go back down hill, if not that means you are still engaged with the reverse motor. Good luck.

and if all else fails you can get rid of that power wheels reverse and get a real one.
