Vrod Muscle license plate relocation

Vrod Muscle license plate relocation
So we have had a few folks who didn't care for the side mounted license plate on the Vrod Muscle. A reasonable alternative is order and install the HDI (hd international) version. Bolts rite up and looks good to boot. We did however have to drill two new holes in the plastic for our PA plate but besides that was a breeze. You will need to order the fallowing part numbers:
1.(1) 69394-09 license plate module
2.(1) 69424-09 lamp assy.
3.(2) 3711M screw, hex cap
4.(2) 6859M washer, m6
5.(6) 7495 nut, hex
6.(2) 69472-09 stud plate
Parts total at MSRP was $260.00 and took about 1.5 hrs..

Nice job. I am also one of those that doesn't like the side mount license plate bracket, but I thought the international bracket was a bit much too. Therefore, I ordered just the bracket, seperated the plastic and metal part and cut down the plastic part down to just the plate holder. Then I reattached the metal bracket to the now much smaller plastic part. Here is what that looks like after the cutting, sanding and reattaching:
After that, I got a LED license plate frame, and a pair of stock HD electrical connectors and installed it all on the VRSCF. That way it is lit, but much smaller than the stock HD international bracket. Here are a couple of photos of it unlit and lit:
This is a pretty simple project, and I think it is a great option for those like me that don't like the side mount license plate, nor do they want the big hang down fender of the stock international license plate. The bracket is cheap, the LED frame was only $30 and the wiring connectors were only about $2.
