Default Road King Classic forged wheels?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has found a very classic looking forged 16" wheel that would go well on an '04 FLHRCI? I'd like to maintain the classic look while getting rid of the tubes and spokes. I have tried doing several searches in this forum and can not find any posts about it. I like the look of the OE 40 spoke wheel but hate the tube requirement (not to mention that it's a bitch to fully clean the wheels as they are!!).

What I'm working with:

Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

A set of 18" sealed 60 spoke wheels would look great! No tubes needed, but the cleaning would be the same...Some luster lace and a few tricks make cleaning spoke wheels easier too!

The problem with the really classic 10 spoke alloys (or 16?) , is that they are set up for 3/4" axles.

You have 16" x 3.00 front and rear with 1" axles.

Be aware, the most modern H-Ds and many of available wheels may be set up with 25cm axle bearing kits, but these can be swopped for 1" axle bearing kits though.

The 9 spoke "cartwheel" alloys would be the cheapest, most common and obvious choice. I think they look OK, in a classic way, and would suit the "cowboy" look of the leather saddle bags. They were optional when the bike was new, e.g. 43345-00 WHEEL ASSEMBLY, CAST - Front

There's a guy selling them chromed too, as does Harley (e.g. 41889-07)

Someone here powder coated them, you can do the rims too. H-D sells them all black now. Again, cheap to DIY.

I've actually bought a wheel and stuff from this guy in NC (Jason) who has some to sell right now. If you cannot afford to sit and snipe on Ebay, you'll get a fair deal and good service from him. He's trustworthy to deal with directly and will find stuff if you ask.

I'd agree with anyone who said they would not wear 99% of the gothic-styled "custom" alloy wheels on the market if they paid them. I like conservative too.

I'm not sure of cross fitment with Softails as many of the remained 3/4" size.

Default Road King Custom wheels

If you can find a set of Road King Custom wheels they go well on a RKC. The slotted mags clean easy and look great.

Those are called "Airstrike".

Come in black with polished edges as well.

We have lots of options to fit your 2004. Check out our website at http://www.hogpro.com/

What most guys who have spokes want is something like our Matrix wheel which is similar to a spoke without the hassles of a tube or cleaning it.

Are you looking to get something in the stock sizes or something a little bit bigger? Let me know or give us a call and we will be happy to help you find a suitable match for your bike.
