Do I really want to take this apart? before you start, Cover anything that's painted!

Remove the two castle nuts that fasten the lamp brackets to the fork legs.

Unplug the passing lamps and or turn signals..

Remove the inner fairing torx screws. There are two on each side. This is the bottom one.

Remove the three fairing screws on the front of the fairing. Tip; Leave the center fairing screw in place until you have removed the windshield. Pull the fairing way and disconnect the headlight plugs and remove the outer fairing.

Put your loose nut's,screws and bolts in a tray. This way you won't lose anything.

You don't have to remove the ignition switch to get the cover off. Once the cover is loose turn your bars to the right, reach up and unplug the accessory switch plug. Then turn it to the left and do the same thing. Even if you don;t have any accessories there are still two plugs in there..

In order to remove the ignition switch cover turn your bars slightly to the right.

Slide the cover out to the side. You will have to wiggle the bars slightly back and forth a few times and it will come out. A word of caution, put some painters tape on the bump of the housing so it doesn't get scratched.

remove the front brake lever and master cylinder.

Wrap the levers up and let them hang.

unplug the left side switch from the "plug caddy" under the radio. This will give you some slack to pull the switch assembly off the bars.

Cut the three zip ties that hold the switch wiring to the handlebars.

unplug the throttle side switch and TBW sensor wires from the "plug caddy" under the radio. looking straight at the back of the radio the throttle wires are on the left and the clutch side switch wires are on the right.

Take the two screws out of the throttle side switch housing.and pull the back off.

use a small flat screwdriver to release the plastic ratchet clamp.

Slide the twist grip off the bars.

Leave the throttle sensor in the bars until after the bars are removed from the bike.

Remove the castle bolts that secure the fairing to the fork legs. There are two on each side.

After the bottom two bottom castle bolts are removed slide the cover off the fork legs.

Go to the front of the bike and lift the fairing straight up a couple of inches and lean it back.

Now we have easy access to the handlebar clamps.

This is the TBW sensor wire. Follow it until you come to the plug. There is about 18" to 20" extending out of the bars.

Cut the two zip ties that hold the brake and clutch lines to the steering head.

This will give you the extra play you need to move the lines around when you install the new bars.

using a flat blade screwdriver gently pry the TBW sensor out of the bars. Once it is started push on the wire and gently pull the sensor out of the end of the bars.
