Default Is Mobil 1 15W-50 ok?

I am getting ready to change oil this weekend and wanted to go to Mobil 1. The only place in town that sells Mobil 1 is Walmart and it is 15-50. I read on the "oil" thread that some guys are using this. Any one out there had any experience with this type? I can't really see much difference but I am no expert. Thanks!

ride safe,

Use Harley oil only or your engine will blow up and warranty will be void.

don't listen to jeepster, I don't know the answer, but I'm pretty sure he's wrong.

Someone else will come with an answer or look in the tech forum.

Clarification: you can use other brands of oil, lots of people do. oil weight is what I was unsure about.

Twinfreeze:
These guys are messing with you. Mobil1 15w-50 is excellent. I've been using it forever... and BelRay Hypoid in the transmission. Not only is the Mobil1 a great product, it is readily available wherever you may roam. My trusted friend and Service Manager told me years ago that it is the best stuff out there. I've seen results....cam changes, displacement changes....virtually no wear on any metallic surface.
If you do a search on this Forum on the subject, you'll find that the two most used lubricants are Amsoil and Mobil1. Either are stellar.

I took mine in for the 2500 mile service--used the mobil oil. The people in service said it did not
matter if used there oil or mine. Just my 2 cents.

I jsut chnaged to this oil in the crankcase yesterday. Put some in the primary today. We shall see if I have any clutch slippage as I have read that some have with synthetic in the pirmary. I am going to ride it tonight...So Far so good, and by the way I have never used a fully synthetic oil in any bike I have ever had (this is number 13). I said what the hell, maybe it will protect it better...
