Default 360 Brake Update Pt. 2

Yesterday we did about 340 miles or so... Last week I got back from a 2600+ mile trip... The bike stopped fine this entire time... In previous posts I had noted that it made a high pitched "wail" while braking.. It only happens on occasion... So today I went to my guy and we tore it apart so I could "deglaze" the brake pads and this is what we found!!

Imagine mysurprise!!! Sorry if the quality is not great, I took this pic with my phone.
I immediately called them and they asked me to send all the parts back to them to inspect. I really don't know what to do right now...
I felt it was my responsibility to post this as I know there are a few others considering this mod.. If it deals with safety it should be put out there.
Having said that, the brake did not fade, stopped the bike and I NEVER felt like Holy Shiitake I can't stop...
Right now I'm gonna wait to hear what they have to say... Chet at 360 has always answered calls and has been stand up about any questions or concerns I've had thru this whole process... We'll see..

Apparently the brake pads were not bedded properly on the initial install... there is a very specific procedure to follow. I do not believe the guy who installed it followed it properly. Again, the bike stopped, andI've put about 3000 worry free miles on on the last 2 1/2 weeks... I think properly installed it will perform fine... But right now I'm thinkin two things..
1. '08 RG with ABS( not really an option)
2. Sweet 6 piston number w/ matching rotor...

I'll keep ya updated...

Fish...

Thanks for the info. I am/was considering this option for a winter project. Please let us know what the outcome is. I hope they work this out, they sure do look good. Good Luck.

Fish,
Thanks for the update! I have wheels and the 360 on order from Shooter64 (Bart). He said the brake was a b!tch to bleed and that the set up is very percise.
Bart, maybe you can comment on this. It's making me think hard about this one.

I know you guys are thinkin about doin this... I don't want to be a buzzkill, like I said it still actually stopped well all things considered...
I have close to 6K miles on the set up... So I don't think its a definate NO for you all considering it, but knowledge is everything.. I thought the more info everyone has the better.... As I said, properly set-up, and it is very specific, I think it'll be fine.. Again..We'll see...
There's another member here who's a dealer, sorry I can't recall the screen name, maybe he can shed some light too...

Damn Fish......I am shocked it still stopped......brake break in procedure is critical.......I know that they had some bad pads...and thought that they had got them out of the system....I will personally call Chet in the morning....I am glad you didnt have any problems during the ride....but I can tell you this...if he doesnt have some good ...and I mean damn good answers for this....I am done....and you send it back to me and I will replace it with a caliper and piston...cause life is to short to put up with this crap regardless how cool it looks....I am hoping he has an explantion....but if he dont.....I will......and it will be that I am done with them....and I will replace it with a new rotor and caliper wheter 360 helps me or not. I have not seen a pad fall apart....I helped space BryanTTM's wrong the first time....but this REALLY pisses me off. There has to be a reason....will talk to Mike Phillips at Grandeur.....he is the distributor...and I can tell you he wont be happy...you have my word fish, I wont let them leave US hanging.

I will post tomorrow.

and that fellas, is why Shooter64 is THE MAN!

If things don't work out Fish, the Jaybrake 6 piston caliper Shooter sold me is working really nice.Hope it all works out with the 360 though. That looks so tough on your bike.
