Thinking about getting this for my bike. I have experienced the dreaded wobble a couple times so far this year. Although not severe, it was enough for me to consider spending the money.

Here is a link to the unit:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TWR-HARLEY-TOURING-STABILIZER-STOP-THAT-WOBBLE_
W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35569QQihZ014QQitemZ330226821650QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Here is a link to a great post on the install:

http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=21208.0

How many people here on this forum have this unit? I'm not really interested in other units at this time. Just this unit PLEASE.

Thanks,
Steve

EDIT: Here is the Group Buy info:
The Ebay price is $372.

The HDForums group price is $330 to your door.

PM Tracy here to buy: http://www.HDForums.com/showprofile.asp?memID=14674#

Hold on..be right back

Back   here's what he told me...

I dont have any pics, brother, but I am selling a new one....that I am convinced is the best one.  It's called the missing link and it's from Grandeur Cycles.  It is by far the easist to install, and cheaper.  I can sell you the missing link for 335.00 to your door.  If you dont like it for any reason, just ship it back.  I have the Ride-Str8 in stock as well.

you can see the missing link at www.grandeurcycle.com

Let me know what you think.

Greg,

I guess I'm just a born researcher. I want to know as much as possible about something . . .

and then I want to hear some "real world" experience from others BEFORE I jump myself. I'm no expert . . . I want to hear from some.

I'll be glad to buy one and install it first . . .

I purchased one and installed it just last week.  I bought it because of all the stabilizers I have seen this one looked the best and it is made of 6061 billet aluminum.  It was also cheaper than two others of a similar design that I found also.  I am very satisfied with the quality and you barley notice it on the bike.

Every time I seem to do this whole "research" thing, it ends up costing me a lot of money. Oh well, bad habits are hard to break

I have one, but I'm not going to be much help for a few days.  I'm sittin' in front of the computer workin' on the first drink of the evening after installin' the link & an oil temp. gauge.  I haven't had a chance to ride it yet, in fact the fairing is still off.  I have a wiring change to make on my garage door opener.

What I can tell you is that the seller is a stand-up guy.  UPS lied about delivery & the seller got on the problem imediately.  The parts are beautifuly finished, & fit is excellent.  Droppin' the exhaust for one bolt is a PITA, but that ain't his fault.

I have the TWR missing link
It has tighen the bike up I do get more vibration but your going to get it with all of them tie the motor to the frame.
Yes you need to remove the exhaust the bottom bolt is counter sunk and you need to use a socket to tighten

Before I installed the TWR I could wiggle the bars and it would feel like the frame wiggled, now it soild the way it should be

I had to unbolt the rear bracket and loosen both header bolts in order to get the to the bottom bolt.  You don't need to move it out very much to get a rachet on it.  Really simple installation overall.

Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread. Based on everything I've read on this forum and the CVO forum, I believe this is the best choice for me.

Here are my reasons.

#1 - The design does not interfere with my Wheeldock center stand.
#2 - The design does not require a bracket surrounding the entire transmission pan.
#3 - Looks like a fairly simple install.
#4 - The parts look to be very well made.
#5 - Price is better than many other units available.
#6 - The seller has nearly 1000 positive feedbacks on Ebay. PLUS . . .I love EBAY!
#7 - Lastly, everyone I can find who has installed it seems happy with the install and the results.

OK . . . this is my story and I'm stickn' to it!

Hmmmm...I email'd Bart (Shooter64) 6 days ago for a price on a D&D FatCat. No reply yet.

As for the Alloy Art TWR Stabilizer, I can't say if it's better/worse than any of the others because I haven't installed mine yet.
But I can say, I'm certainly glad I bought this brand because I've ordered the Baker +1 Oil Pan and if you look at Baker's site, this pan is setup to accept the Alloy Art stabilizer.

To the guy that's ordering from American Classic...I ordered mine from them. At the time I ordered there was a "Best Offer" on it. I sent him an offer of $300 for the Polished version. I can't remember exactly what I paid for it, but I recall getting it for about $50 less than his Ebay Buy-It-Now price. Moral of the story, send him an outlandish offer, he'll counter with a better price than he has listed.

I got one off e-bay from the missing link guy, very happy with mine, this was before he started making the Alum ver. he has now. I was changing out my stock exhaust for the fatcat I had gotten so that wasn't much of a problem for me. I didn't notice any extra vibes on my road glide after the change over but it sure tightened my Glide up big time, feels solid as a rock now!  I think I made him a offer and got mine for just over $200 but this was the older ver. the new one really looks sweet I think   Oh yeah it worked great with the Rivco centerstand I was installing too, that was a buying consideration for a stabilizer on my part.

Yes you need to remove the exhaust the bottom bolt is counter sunk and you need to use a socket to tighten

I noticed reading the link provided from the one available from "Bart", is that one has some sort of shock absorber built into it to lessen any vibration.  It looks like it mounts about the same.

Question:  Has anyone had any problems with oil leaks after removing bolts from just one side of the tranny pan, putting on this unit, and retorqueing the bolts?  It seems to me that could be a good way to warp a pan?
