How to Make a Cafe Racer Out of a Harley-Davidson Street 750

For many, Harley-Davidsons are meant to be ridden slowly, as to enjoy the journey. Because these American classics aren’t bought known for speed or handling. They’re heavy cruiser bikes, which just aren’t meant to be caned like a race machine. Unless, of course, you turn them into a bitchin’ café racer. Enter Chris Chappell

His company, Los Angeles-based Chappell Customs, has built quite a few Harley-Davidson café racers over the years. They retain Harley’s trademark burly feel, yet are loads lighted than their factory counterparts. Most importantly? They’re all the kinds of cool.

Chappell’s latest project is for a local Harley-Davidson dealer which will be sold to the public once it’s complete. Beginning with a Street 750, Chappell and his crew have quickly turned it from a slow, imperfect motorcycle, to something we’d love to own.

He’s been documenting the entire build process of the Street 750 Café Racer on his YouTube channel and can already view parts 1, 2, and 3. We’ve already covered part one, so here’s parts two and three.

So what do you all think? Should more Harleys become café racers?
