Harley-Davidson Fantasy Becomes Reality as Stunning, Mostly-Original Vintage H-D EG Surfaces in Online Auction

When it comes to the collector market, one of the key benefits we see from rampant collecting is the emergence of “survivor” motorcycles. And a stunning example of a true survivor is this 1965 Electra Glide, which is being offered at $27,500 on eBay in an auction that ends December 22.

The vintage FLH shows 25,500 miles on the odometer, all of them original. All of the paint isn’t original, yet it looks stunning all around. The frame paint is original and in good shape. New brakes have been fitted, and the engine and transmission have been rebuilt.

Also, there are a number of normal maintenance items completed for reliability. They include new tires and tubes, a new chain, voltage regulator and battery. There’s also a rebuilt carb on top. And while the bike is mostly original, period-correct pieces include the rear view mirrors and bags.

Those bags are of 1960s vintage with new hardware. The pipes are also period-correct with upswept mufflers. A new National Lexan windshield replaces the original piece, with SS spokes on the wheels. New buddy-seat booster springs and rebuilt front-end springs and seals round out the package.

And what a beautiful package it is. This 1965 Electra Glide is a fine example of a vintage Harley. It’s also one of the better preserved survivors on the market right now. And original, unrestored motorcycles are red hot at the moment. So, if you’re in the market for a bike like this, you’ll need to hurry before somebody else grabs it!
