2009 Harley Davidson Nightster Sportster Review: Engine and Styling

By -

When the Harley Davidson Nightster first debuted in 1957, it projected a strong and rebellious spirit that was born on the gritty dirt tracks and drag strips of a Harley motorcycle era that was just getting its legs under it. The 2009 Harley Davidson Nightster still has the same bad attitude that has endeared the original Nightster to millions of motorcycle fans and still rolls down the highway with the distinctive sound of an American V-twin engine provided by its Evolution V-twin powerplant. The 2009 Harley Davidson Nightster takes the legend of the Sportster into dark alleys, with distinctive black parts designed to catch your eye in the moonlight. Redesigned for 2009 to provide you with an improved Harley Davidson Nightster, designers implemented space age materials and innovative technologies to make the 2009 Harley Davidson Nightster the best Sportster, yet.

The all new 2009 Harley Davidson Nightster comes with Harley Davidson’s
V-twin Evolution engine, a 1202.8 cu in, air-cooled, 4-stroke V-twin, a
responsive throttle, fuel injection and a chrome slash-cut staggered
exhaust. The 2009 Harley Davidson Nightster comes standard with a
5-speed manual transmission, rear belt and front fender guards with a
unique bullet-hole pattern that will get noticed, Dunlop tires, a side
mounted license plate, a one-piece leather seat, hydraulic disc brakes,
a telescopic fork in front, with a twin sided swing arm in back and
retro fork gaiters that give this motorcycle traditional class and help
protect the fork seals from dirt and debris.

The 2009 Harley Davidson Nightster features a number of distinctive
black components that have been included with this Harley that give
this motorcycle the dark attitude you love. The front forks and clamp,
headlight cover, handlebar, all the levers, turn signals, rear belt and
front fender guards, and even the air cleaner insert have been blacked
out. They added a new medium gray finish with polished and black
treatments for the transmission and air-box. A new chrome-cast aluminum
slotted disc rear steel wheel that’s 4 lbs lighter than last year’s
wheel and a new 25. 3-inch seat height that’s comparable to the XL
Sportster 883 Low and an inch lower than the XL Sportster 1200 Low.
They added rubber mounts to decrease the characteristic vibration of
the engine, a taillight that’s integrated into the rear turn signals, a
retuned suspension and a low-profile front fender that hugs the front
tire for a streamlined custom look.

The 2009 Harley Davidson Nightster has raw soulful styling, a wide
Powerband and a flat torque curve for responsive performance that
reacts quickly when you turn the throttle. The upgraded suspension
includes recalibrated and new damping devices that improve the
smoothness of the ride and make the 2009 Harley Davidson Nightster ride
like a dream. The clutch reacts smoothly as its quiet helical-cut gears
and lightweight dog rings reduced the shift effort and make changing
speeds and driving on different types of terrain a pleasure on the 2009
Harley Davidson Nightster. You can see lots of engine as you look at
this bike and the black paint contrasts beautifully with the medium
gray finish used to highlight the blackness of this motorcycle. The
Harley Davidson Nightster was made to be ridden in all seasons and on
any surface and it handles beautifully on pavement or dirt.

The 2009 Harley Davidson Nightster is the same old Harley Sportster
that’s loved and ridden by millions of motorcycle enthusiasts around
the world. A dark and gritty motorcycle with an urban feel, the 2009
Nightster still includes elements that first debuted in 1957, only with
space age materials and performance.

Upgraded torque and the strong-as-ever V-Twin 1200cc engine make you think of going with a new Sportster? Have one already? How do you like it? Any issues?
