Forward My Mail to Me in Hell: Nikki Sixx’s Custom Hardtail Springer
While I was a SEMA this year, I stayed at the Hard Rock—and I saw this bad-ass bike as soon as I walked into the hotel.
The plaque on the base says it belongs to Nikki Sixx, the bassist for Motley Crue—one of the most rock and roll people on earth—and also notes the Hardtail Springer was originally owned by the Hells Angels. Since I know that MC takes copyright infringement seriously, I have no reason to doubt the provenance of the bike.
I loved Motley Crue when I was a kid, but garnered a whole new appreciation for them after I picked up The Dirt—Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band, so I got a kick of seeing Nikki’s Harley in the lobby. If you’re a fan of turbocharged tales of sex, drugs and rock and roll, I highly recommend picking up that book.
