Harley Davidson Dyna Glide Tire Overview: Options and Recommendations

By -

If you have a Harley Davidson Dyna motorcycle and need new tires for your bike, there are a number of options out there for you. These bikes are basically built from the same mindset that brought the factory-custom revolution in the 1970’s. They are built to be both aesthetically pleasing and to handle well. That makes them a hit with Harley enthusiasts.

As with any motorcycle, you should never disregard the importance of good tires on your Harley Davidson Dyna. These bikes are designed with handling in mind, but the best bike is only as good as the tires on which it is riding. Worn out or poor quality tires will lead to instability in the bike. That can cause you to wreck the motorcycle. That makes tires an extremely important safety device.  So, take your time and choose the tires that are best for your situation.

Avon SP Pro Xtreme

Avon SP Pro Xtreme tires have a twin Kevlar belt construction. This
provides them with exceptional durability and strength. There’s also
especially capable in the rain. Pricing on these tires start at a
little over $200.

Bridgestone Battlax BT-002 Racing Street Tires

These tires are D.O.T. approved as Hypersport Street and Track Day
tires. They offer exceptional quality for performance riders. They
should be priced just a little below Avon’s SP Pro Xtreme tires.

Bridgestone  Battlax BT45 High Performance Tires

If you are looking for a quality tire, but don’t want to spend a lot
of money, you might consider these. They are designed for high
performance, but are more for general riding. You should be able to
find these for less than $150 each.

Dunlop Qualifier Performance Radials

If you want race track performance out of your tires, you might want
to consider these. They aren’t extremely expensive, yet they deliver
quality and speed and handling. Compared to Dunlop’s Sport Touring
Radials, you are likely not to get the same mileage from these, but
they should do wonders for performance.

Dunlop Sport Touring Radials

These tires are designed to deliver more road miles than other
motorcycle tires while not sacrificing performance. They should be
priced somewhere between the Bridgestone High Performance Tires and the
Bridgestone Racing Street ones.

Michelin

One option is to go to your Harley Davidson dealer to get tires. You
will almost certainly be sold Michelin tires. The one big advantage to
buying those tires is that it should bring your bike to the factory
recommended specifications.

When buying tires for any motorcycle, you should consider it an
investment in safety. Good tires are the difference between having your
bike hug the corner and dumping. That really makes the equation
completely about your safety. For that reason you should never
sacrifice quality when buying motorcycle tires.Remember that depending
on the specific model and model year you have, it’s possible that all
the options listed here won’t necessarily be available for your bike.
Still, this list gives you an idea of things to look for when shopping.
