Harley-Davidson LiveWire Spotted in the Wild

While enjoying a vacation in Florida, one of our pals stumbled upon Harley-Davidson’s hottest new bike.

Phil Waters is a friend of mine, and one hell of a motorcyclist to boot. He runs Cleveland Moto, which is not only an excellent motorcycle dealership and repair facility, but also the name of an equally excellent motorcycle-themed podcast that he hosts.

Every Friday night, Phil and his band of misfit bikers (this writer included) converge upon the dealership after-hours to talk about everything from motorcycles to military equipment, spicy sausage recipes, and bad dental work. It’s always a good time for us, and definitely worth a listen if you can handle a bit of rough language here and there.

Last week, however, there was no podcast, because our host was in Florida, visiting the new Star Wars-themed Disney park. We were a bit jealous — who doesn’t like Star Wars and warm weather? What he spotted near his hotel, though, had us even more jealous. Phil had seen a LiveWire, up close and personal.

Most of us — that’s the podcast gang and you, dear readers — are still waiting for a chance to lay our eyes on the newest, hottest Harley-Davidson. Thankfully, our friend managed to get some great shots of the bike.

It’s sitting pretty at a charging station, getting used and enjoyed by its owner. The black paint sits in sharp contrast to the sunny Florida weather, but I’m not complaining. I doubt the owner is, either.

So many of the press photos show the bike in orange. You’ll have to forgive me for forgetting that Harley-Davidson offers the LiveWire in multiple colors. While I haven’t picked a favorite yet, black is certainly a contender after seeing these photos.

All in all, these pics offer a tantalizing taste of what we can soon expect to see all over the country. I look forward to the day when I walk by the EV charging stations on my way into the store and see a sleek, fast-looking motorcycle nestled in between the Teslas and BMW i3s. I guess 2020 is finally starting to feel like the future after all.
