The Bat-Pod from The Dark Knight Series is Up for Auction

Want to get your hands on the Bat-Pod that was used in The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises? Now is your chance because The Prop Store auction at London’s BFI IMAX will be auctioning it off on September 27th. Between September 14 -27, the Bat-Pod will be on display to the public.

The Bat Pod is expected to fetch a price close to $67-90k.

“A hero Bat-Pod vehicle from the action films The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, directed by Christopher Nolan, is to be made available at public auction for the first time. Conceived by Christopher Nolan and the film’s production designer Nathan Crowley, Batman’s high-tech motorbike was custom-designed and completely bespoke for the productions. Film fans around the world admired the unique vehicle in both movies, with its uniquely memorable shape and massive over-sized tires. It is expected to be one of the most sought-after lots in Prop Store’s 27 September Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, held at London’s BFI IMAX proudly presented by ODEON.”

The incredible Bat-Pod is designed for a rider in a prone position who steers the vehicle with their arms and shoulders and features advanced design elements such as an exhaust system integrated within the framework. It also features the following:

This vehicle is expected to be one of the highest selling lots, with an estimated sale price of between $67-90k. Over 500 lots of original film and television props and costumes will be sold at auction in total, including other highlights such as Batman’s Batsuit and Bane’s Costume.

The auction will be live-streamed online for fans to track the bidding on auction day. A free preview exhibition will be open to the public in the run-up to the auction, opening on Wednesday, September 14 at the BFI IMAX and showcasing over 300 lots from the upcoming auction. Batman fans and petrol heads alike will have an opportunity to see the iconic vehicle in the exhibition.
