Really? To save $25? Swapping wires around in a harness and still have issues?

I'll be buying the HD harness.

When driving at night, I need all the light I can get. Never made sense as to why the passing lights were out on hi beam. 'Sposed to switch to lo beam for approaching traffic, and that turned the spots back on. So what logic is there behind no spots on hi beam? Great mod...will make it soons temp rises above 10 deg.!

Default Issues with wire swap?

And you think the same ppl having issues with this simple 2 wire swap wouldn't have ANY when removing fairing, locating harness, making the connection, replacing fairing?

I like the satisfaction of a work around that is simple, costs $0, takes 10 min and only uses a paper clip. There's joy to be had knowing it cost me nothing, and saved time, AND I didn't have to rem that flippin fairing!

The fact that you'll buy the harness shows that you're a man of integrity, who goes by the bookby golly, and think everyone else should as well! You, my friend, are Goldwing or BMW material - you just don't know it.

I however, enjoy getting around the system...esp when its for free!

Well I believe it's a DOT regulation to prevent vehicles on high beam, running even more lights. But it really does not make good sense. In other markets (Europe, and Asia I think) the regulation is just the opposite (and I think they're correct). Additional lighting can only come on with the high beam. They assume you would only use high beam when there is no opposing traffic so it doesn't make any difference.

I was in the process of swapping my bars and cables and I figured I'd give this mod a shot since it seemed pretty basic and my front end was apart already anyways. I just got it all back together today and this mod works great!! Thanks for posting this mod up!!!

Hi Guys,
From Australia, ride a 2009 flht. Interesting artical regarding the operating of Auxillary lights. The Auxillary lights here,(international) only operate with the high beam, opposite to the USA. I am wanting to have the Aux lights to operate on both low and high beam, so to have the best of both worlds, if I want. In Australia, by law, the low beam is on by default when you turn the ignition on. My understanding of the auxillary wiring is,
Low beam -- Yellow
Hight beam - White
Switch wire to Auillary lights - Gray.
Hot wire, (active) that supplies Head light and Auxillary lights --Blue.

I have'nt had any covers off to phyiscally see what colour wire goes to the auxillary switch, but because we can only operate the auxillary lights on high beam, does that mean we, (international) would have to change the "white", (high beam) wire, instead of the "Yellow wire", with the "Orange/Red" wire , ie , Assessory hot wire, in the connector behind the fairing cap for this mod to work. I am concerned with changing the lighting power supplies around, especially the high beam to the asseccories supply,(hot wire). I have attached a picture of the fairing cap wiring , showing a yellow wire, (low beam) going to the auxillary light switch, we ,(international) must be different. A white wire, (high Beam) must go to our auxillary switch, because as I said, we can only operate aux lights on high beam.
I better stop now, because I'm starting to confuse myself.
Thanks in advance, Regards Mark

Default wiring additonal acc switch

I have a street glide with stock acc running led strips under bags. But want to add driving lights to spot lamp switch I installed but want to add an additional accessory switch so I can run with driving lights on all the time with new acc switch if I want. But also be able to shut 2nd acc switch off and run with the spot lamp so driving lights are not on with high beams. Can someone help we with right wire connections for my 2010 street glide?

Switched the wires on a 2012 FLHTC. Works great! I don't use accessories so no issue on when it works correctly or not. Always turn off the spots when shutting off the bike anyway so non-issue on the switch. Thanks man.
