Hammz, my point is if harley is still in a partnership with the portable motorcycle GPS units why did they go separate ways for the in-dash unit?
And the car in-dash units should not be identical to motorcycle GPS's because people in cars don't map out a route using basecamp, all you care about is getting from point A to point B. The 9 waypoint limit should have been caught by Harley way before rolling out the 2014s. The fact that a software update to fix that has not come out in over a year is hampering a lot of clubs that lead rides. The Garmin Zumo units do not have that waypoint limitation. So if you have not yet mapped out a ride and are just putting in your destination then you are not bothered by the waypoint issue.

After reading the manual for the in-dash Garmin, I'm thinking we're lucky to be able to import any routing into the 6.5 systems; there is NO IMPORTING OPTION on the Garmin in-dash unit! (Could be why HD went a different route)
Before my '14 I did my routing on my PC & printed the directions. After getting my '14 I still do my routing on my PC & print the directions. Big difference now is I can use the NAV to let me know when my intersections/turns are approaching if I so desire.
Actual use, I generally keep the what's playing screen up & monitor the status symbols on the bottom line of that screen (time, compass, phone signal strength, etc).

My point is, just because it's a Garmin does not make it better than what we have & people should quit bitching about the 6.5 not being a Garmin because the equivalent Garmin unit is less suited to our needs than what we already have.
