My Ultra Classic has had the EITMS engage as low as 70 degrees on the info page. Each time it has been after a lot of hard highway riding, then a sudden stop at a light or in traffic.

ETS is a thermistor & is located in the back of the front cylinder head behind the horn mounting bracket.

I can only comment on my bike. The EITMS has never become ACTIVE until the Information screen showed a temp of 81*. On a warm day, after the engine had run for the minimum of 4 minutes and the information screen showed a temp of 81 or above, the EITMS would activate at every stop. If the info screen showed 80*, the bike could sit there and idle all day and the EITMS would not become active. One time on a cooler than 81* day I took the AAT sensor and placed it on the top of the rocker box. As soon as the info screen showed 81* the EITMS became active.

^^^^^^THAT has been my exact experience with the ETMS on my 2014 Limited.

I leave it on all the time and it only has activated when the info screen showed 81deg.

I prefer leaving the system off. My Limited never gets so hot that I'm uncomfortable.

Mine engaged at around 70 degrees, a lot of slow, stop and go traffic.

This is simple to prove.

A pic of this screen, when activated below the prescribed temp.

That just tells you it's enabled, meaning it will activate. Once it activates, that screen shows "Active" instead of "Enabled".
