I guess that all depends where you live and how much you use the gps and how much construction their is in the town you live in. I made a route when I first got my bike, and driving down the road it kept saying recalculating , I guess the road was not paved when they made the map! My map says 2012.
I would not for another year or two cause I can't see paying for an update especially since it is such a P I A to use. If or when Harley works out some more of the bugs or makes it easier to use I may update it, I am just annoyed that you buy a 25++ grand motorcycle and you have to pay for the updates I mean you can buy a garmin on sale for a lot less, and get free life time map updates. Why can't harley?

I agree you pay this much and then have to pay again for the map updates is crazy, these nav systems should come with updates when the new flashes come out to update the rest of the Boom.

All the auto manufacturers I know of do it the same way as Harley. They charge for updates. Not saying I like it, just what is.

Best way to fight back is not updating your GPS maps. I don't and have yet to have a issue with the GPS in my 09 car.

I believe the car companies also charge for GPS map updates. So Harley's not alone.

The Date Manufactured for the bike is on the sticker on the top left front frame rail.
