Changing rear shocks

I haven't done it, but Harley Touring models have so much rake and trail that lifting the rear 1" won't make much difference. Your bike will handle much the same as my FLHTK which comes standard with the 13" shocks; probably better since your fairing doesn't affect your front end directly. You will also gain suspension travel so your ride quality will improve and you will get more lean angle available for cornering.

Do the search... Lots of threads about replacement shocks. Many options to choose from too. I did the Ohlins 2.5's from Howard and haven't looked back. The improvement was a night 'n day experience. I'm not a fan of the lowered look. I'd rather have a bike that rides and handles well. The 12" shocks make a nice bass boat anchor .

Thanks for the info guys, I think I will get some later this year. Between buying the bike and picking up the accessories I want it has left me with an empty pocket feeling. The reviews I have read on the stock 12" air shocks are rather poor. Most refer to the harsh ride and bottoming out.
