Have had both replaced; thermostat at about 5,000 miles, water pump at 20,000.

2014 Limited at 5000 miles thermostat developed leak over the winter. Took it to dealer and they ordered a new one which was also bad. Next one worked and been good since, approx 1500 miles. Replaced under the esp.

68,000 miles on mine and the pump fried exactly 2 weeks after the warranty expired. I was going to fix it myself, but at 400 bucks and a 5 day shipping wait time, I figured I would pay Harley to make the repair. However, Harley did a "good will" repair and it cost me nothing. Good thing they hooked me up!

Going to be interesting to see what happens with my '16 TG. In a months time I am already past 8k. By the time I return from Sturgis in Aug, I should be well over 12k

I'd like to know how you tell if your water pump and/or thermostat go out.

Mine pump failed at around 8000 miles, 2 days before warranty expired.
