Their is already aftermarket reverse gear technology for touring bikes. I think if you need reverse to back up a bike you should choose something smaller in weight.
If you think you need a self balancing motorcycle, you should stop bar hopping
And if you're a wounded veteran and you can't handle a two-wheeler, or if you have bad knees or bad hips, you should be banned from buying a motorcycle, and you should be forced to ride a trike.

There's another reason, and I've seen it happen, more than once, to fully competent riders: You fail to notice, until the group is pulling up behind you, that the slope down to the curb where you're going to park is steeper than you realized. If that's the case, you're not backing it out of that space without help.
