Default ear bud plug in

Does anyone know if it is possible to plug earbuds into the bikes audio system?

I have molded ear buds from Big Ear which do an awesome job, but I then have to plug into my iPod directly and I lose the ability to use the handlebar controls to scroll through the music. I also would like the option of listening to the radio through the ear phones. I have to wear ear protection when I ride to save my deteriorating hearing and with earplugs in the radio just cannot get loud enough. I can not be the only one with this problem, I wonder if there is a plug in to listen to the audio system on the bike. Any one know of a product or modification for this?

There are products available on eBay and Amazon..just Google "Harley earbud adapter".
J&M makes a lower cord with an earbud jack for their headsets also.

I bought one for the Yamaha Venture I used to ride but I never could get it to work. I don't recall who I bought it from.

It works exactly like you want it to, I have a similar adapter I got on eBay. You do need to go into settings and switch the audio from speaker to headset though.

A bit cheaper than the Sierra one.

bobred0965 that is showing a 5 pin DIN connector, is it pin'ed out right for HD's and the earbuds? I understand its not using all the pins anyway, as this is just for L-R audio, so it doesn't need to be 7 pins. Also does the standard earbuds for a iPhone work with it? They're the stereo mini jack that has the extra "contact" area on the plug for the mic. I understand that the mic won't actually work. I just want to be sure the audio gets to the buds. Just being sure, thanks!

I have used the ear speakers in my helmet since it has been available and it works very well, tied into the boom you can use all features including blue tooth iphone, ipod etc.

The problem i have always had was wearing anything inserted into my ear with a helmet on, never wore them with my flight helmet, probably why i can't hear so good today. But the pressure of an actual ear bud, not the foam ear plugs is annoying to me. Hope it works for you

Yes, it's the 180° 5-pin din, which fits in the 7-pin din (just without pins 6 and 7). I have used it with multiple sets of ear buds. As long as you're not using an old Nokia set (the ground and mic sections were backwards), you should be okay.
