On long ride I was getting a lot of bugs in the face and being 6'1", the 10" Windsplitter was just too short. I decided on the Freedom Windshield and I did some research on the forum about what size to order. I noticed several people stated that the 10" Freedom Windshield was about an inch taller then the stock Windsplitter, so I went with a Freedom 11" Touring Style. Put the new windshield on and it looked much larger than the stock windshield. Measured each of the windshields to confirm the Windsplitter at 10" and the Freedom at 11". Decided to take a different approach and measured each windshield from the top of the gas cap cover to top of windshield. The stock Windsplitter measured 16", while the Freedom measures 18 3/4". I gained almost 3" in height due to: 1) 1" taller windshield and 2) The different position of the windshield, the Freedom stands up a little straighter giving more height. The windshield height ended up being perfect for me, placing the top up the windshield just above chin level and the wider Touring Style gives much more protection and improved stereo quality.

Thanks to John at Freedom for all his help and advise, but most of all for an Awesome product!!

Speedy

I was exactly in the same boat. I like the looks of the Windsplitter but the turblence right at glass level was giving me headache. I also ordered the 11" from John, Excited to get I and I'm glad its working for you. I'm also 6'2 with tall torso. Somebody posted a 10" Freedom shield this morning in classified and I started wondering if that size would work for me. Glad I'm sticking with the 11".

As mentioned earlier in the thread, I went from the 10 inch Windsplitter to a 9 inch FS wide touring. The FS sits higher, despite being an inch less material. The Windsplitter sweeps back more. The 9 inch is perfect for me. I'm 6-5.

FYI......I just listed an "almost brand new" (only 300 miles) 9" Clear Freedom Shields Wide Touring windshield in the touring parts classified on this forum.........should anyone be interested. Great windshield but just a bit tall for my 5'8" height. My error could be someone's good fortune.

Couldn't discount all the good reviews on this shield so I ordered one yesterday. John is a great guy to work with and gave me a shield height recommendation based on my specs. Ten percent forum discount too.

There's currently about a four-week backlog due to the virus but all good things come to those who wait, right?
