If you have to put a pump in at 40k and it cost 600 what’s that average 10 bucks a month,is it really that big of a deal, really..everyone complains about everything Harley and comparing it to a BMW’s,Honda’s...Does anybody ever see the positives about our bikes..I’ve got north of 40k on mine and have never had any problems,.but if my pump goes out tomorrow then I’ll throw one on and figure it’s the cost of owning a Harley

I have also had 2 Pumps go out on me in less than a month.2016 Road Glide Ultra. First one I got from Board tracker and changed it myself. The bike is in service getting second one changed under warranty. If it goes out again I'm trading it in.

As long as you just "looked" at he BMW it's OK. But if you think Harleys have a high cost of maintenance, try BMW on for size. LOL!

YES! IT's really that big of a deal! Yet another Design flaw of Harley that the bike owners have to pay to get fixed, instead of Harley paying to fix it themselves. Yet again an example of the owner being a test dummie for Harley. It's part of the Harley-Davidson Production Cost Reduction Strategy. It's worked for many, many years. And it continues to save Harley Davidson money, in that they don't have to bear the cost of testing to the extreme. They can have the owners of the bikes do the testing, AND, the owners have to pay for the failures during the testing period(read: duration of ownership ). A nice plan it you can get away with it, and Harley Has done exactly that!
Come on man, you HAVE to believe we as owners deserve better than that.

2016 CVO RGU W/ 10,247 lost a coolant pump. Put the bike away in October, warranty was up December 23rd 2017.. took it out in May check engine light on. Water pump!
Harley won't help at all. This is my 5th CVO and 19th Harley. It will be my last..

From my vantage point it isn’t that big of a deal..but if I was as upset as you and others are ,then I’d trade for something different.. I’m a simple rider, never owned a helmet,no leathers,no gloves,no rain gear,no fancy seats,no communication device,no riding groups, so I guess what I’ve saved over my riding years on that crap and doing my own service ,I’m way ahead..Plus I hope you don’t really believe what your insinuating about us being Harley’s test dummies..maybe they have some design flaws, but it’s not intentional..I learned a long time ago not to stress about the little things in life....oh and I don’t wave either..
