Corbin Fire and Ice
Hello, put in Corbin Fire And Ice Dual Touring in the search bar and you'll see a nice thread on it. I have one and you'll see pictures of the custom seat I had made when I rode up to Corbin in Hollister last year. Short answer, yes, it's worth the extra money if you'll be riding in hot weather. for short trips around town, you probably won't feel it much, it takes about 10 minutes or so to notice the effect.

I have a DualTour "Fire and Ice" on my "17 RGS that I bought used, in perfect condition, off another forum. I am partial to Corbins anyway, all four of my bikes have them, as well as many before.
The good:. Very comfortable, good looking seat. Leather, well made. Fits the bike perfectly. Corbin rider backrest easy to install. Pretty easy to wire up. I actually installed an auxiliary fuse block fed by a switched circuit thru a diode protected relay, which enables me to easily add electronic accessories. Heat and cool work as advertised. Heat gets to about 110 degrees, cool about 20 degrees less than surface temp at 85 degrees.
The bad: Expensive, especially new. Heavy - 17 lbs. The heat function has only one setting, high. I find it excessive. The Corbin heated seat on my Honda has two settings and I have never needed to use high.
I have not had the chance to use the cooling function in hot weather, but I think I am going to like it.

I have a Fire and Ice seat. The cooling is ok and as described above needs a few minutes to cool down. Corbin claims between 15-20* difference after a few minutes. I'd say that those #s are accurate. On my bike the cool setting uses more power than the heat. All in all it works as advertised.
