Default Was it possible?

I bought a 2018 flhtcu from a local dealership. It had the tour pack quick detach kit installed already. Could the bike be ordered from the factory without the tour pack? Just wondering if the tour pack that came with the bike was original to the bike. It looks like it is original stock...

Yes. Same two-tone color.

Then it probably came with the bike from the factory. There’s usually a sticker on the underside of the lid that shows the manufacture date of the tour pak.

I'm assuming you bought it used? Pretty sure the tour pack comes standard on an Ultra, original owner probably added the quick release kit.

The manufacture date on the tour pack lid is May of 2017. Ya, I bought the bike used in April of 23. I'm guessing the detach kit was added after the original bike purchase that included the tour pack as stock.

Probably so... I had my new bike 1 week before I added the detach kit (I didn't buy a "kit", just used the stuff I wanted). Sold my last bike, a '16 RGU, with the factory tour pack, and the detachable hardware.

Now all you need is a place to store all the removable things. Here is something I built for that

Just FWIW....

The factory does not add/subtract accessories or options to bikes in the factory. The MoCo ships various model bikes, and dealers order them.... A customer can order a certain model bike and wait for it to be made & shipped, but it will come from the factory without options, accessories, or deletes.

Once at a dealership, the dealership can "trick out" a new bike with options and accessories either at a customer's request, or to have a "special" bike on their sales floor....

I bought a new Bagger back in 2012. It was just a basic, black 2012 Ultra Limited with the CA smog. The New York dealership ordered it for me, so I could buy it , break it in, then drive it home to CA. Once at the dealership, they added a bunch of stuff for me; GPS, LED turn signals, handlebars, bolt-in EPA approved cam, exhaust, and air cleaner.

When I picked it up, it was set-up with the options and accessories I wanted, but that was done at the dealership level, not from the factory...

Enjoy your new bike...!
