I'll never use the comm. port either.
For me, the fairing panel is better suited for sunglasses rather then my phlash drive.

I've been thinking about removing the comm. port from the bib, adding a USB port to the bib, remove the USB port from the fairing, leave it in the fairing and run the bib USB to it.

I have thought the same thing, I was looking at removing the front power point and placing the USB port there or in one of the switch blanks next to driving light switch. I use a wired headset so comm port is needed.
