Did the same thing to my 13 Fatboy. More comfortable for me and a huge improvement on ground clearance. HD had a kit for my bike. What was the total cost using just stock parts? Looks good by the way.

in2harleys 01-03-2019 02:10 PM

It wasn't cheap.....Here in Oz we pay a bit more that you in the USA.....$800 (approx US$560).
It is a huge improvement in comfort.

soldierbot 01-03-2019 02:25 PM

I approve of this mod, job well done. :)

Mr.ChrisCross 01-03-2019 06:51 PM

Nice. I really like how that looks. Have never really been a fan of floorboards.

Rican219 01-07-2019 02:39 PM

Give you more Lean angle?

Yes, definitely. No more footboard scraping. I find the bike is now easier to control as I have a more confident feel with my legs being in a more comfortable position.....Having said that, now my exhaust scrapes.

Freaking awesome! My next mod!

MatteGlide15 01-07-2019 07:06 PM

Cool mod :icon_beerchug:

thats 1 of the things I disliked about the new Fatboy

OldMike 01-07-2019 07:24 PM

Looks great!
Un-Geezer a nice ride.

Don't suppose you know the part number, or remember what all was needed for this? Was thinking of doing the same to my 13 Lo.

in2harleys 02-15-2019 04:52 PM

During the week, I fitted 3" extensions to the footpegs. I am 6'1", and it is a comfortable leg position now. The combination of the Saddleman seat, Wild1 Chubby handlebars and the footpegs, make this a comfortable ride.

I did the same mod to my Fatboy a while back. in2harleys, thanks for posting the picture with the extensions. I'm 6-1 also and have been thinking about the extensions ever since I did the pegs. Looks like a more comfortable riding position for my legs, like I use to have on my Deuce.

Nice Job. Looks great.

Yup, the Fat Boy sure looks better without the floor boards and as a bonus adds a bit of lean angle. Win win!!!

Question

Awesome mod, I just can’t wait to do the same
on mine, but I have a question, why you can’t keep the brake pedal and the shifter lever? They look the same as the Breakout ones.
thank you.

Original shifter can work. Brake pedal is not the same. I am away for a few weeks, but can take pics when I return.

cchuck3537 05-02-2019 09:45 PM

How much would you sell your floorboard setup for?

Sorry, not for sale. I keep all parts from my bikes while I still own the bike.

Rican219 05-08-2019 01:55 PM

My foot pegs are in this video. I love them.

In this pic, I am holding the original brake pedal. You can see it has an extra bend in it.

You can get away with the stock shifter

Rendezvous 09-21-2019 09:40 PM

Can this be done on the 2019 Heritage?

Cootey 10-13-2019 11:33 PM

Another swap done

Just got home after changing mine over. Vast improvement for me however I don't think I gained much ground clearance. Mine done with a 2018 Fatbob/ Breakout brackets. It cleans up the look of the bike I think, also. I used the original brake pedal, and OEM pegs. Very simple swap.

This does look great. Having ridden extensively with floorboards and without, I completely understand the desire for pegs. It gives you a feeling that your legs are involved in controlling the bike rather than just passive participants.

But, for me, floorboards can make up for a lot of ergonomic deficiencies in a bike. When I added floorboards to my 2016 Street Bob, it made that bike a completely different ride that was comfortable short and long distances. Floorboards give you the ability to move your feet even when the move is so small that you don’t even realize you’ve moved them. I guess as I’ve gotten older, I have come to appreciate them more than ever.

At any rate, motorcycle styles and mods are fun, but more importantly, they personalize for style and comfort for the benefit of the rider.

The mod looks good and I hope that you enjoy it. Lord knows these things have become so expensive to do, we hope they turn out the way we intend.

Thanks. im going to hunt for it till i get it down here to SA

Jamo11 11-04-2019 10:29 AM

I like th eBeach Bars. Are the Chubby brand different fro the Harley brand?

On an earlier Rod King, there was a forward and outward modification that was available without quite so much expense. You could angle the boards up also. I suspect that mod might be available for the new Fat Boy.

I mostly like the Chubby Beach Bars. What was involved in putting those on? I mean, like what cable difficulty did you run into and what was the solution?

Do you have a seperate pic ( without your feet on them ) of the 3" Extensions? Does the EXT Kit give you an ext gear lever ? Im about to do this modification , and am still in 2 minds if i should get the ext kit , im 6"1 myself

HarleyDEU 02-05-2022 12:40 PM

Is there any solution to foreward the board to peg kit? I’m looking for a payable solution. The kit for the breakout will not work. The one and only I’ve found was 600 bucks for 3 inch. Thanks a lot.
