For me I started on the Street Bob, but the tank is too small and I will be riding 2 up a lot. I moved to the low Rider, but at the time there were no forward controls option, but I just saw where that could have changed. Then I went to Slim, but price to add ABS,2 up, and a few other options put me into where I could get the Sport Glide with some hard negotiation. It has ABS, security, and cruise control standard. It has everything for 2 up. I am working on stage 1 and a few other customization items and I will get my deal wrapped up soon.

Happy hunting

Comming from a 48 the best move is the new Fat Bob, I speak out of experience. I have them all, Hugger, Iron, Forty Eight, Breakout and Fat Bob. The 48 have fwc same as the Bob so
no difference there. De Breakout is a showpiece but not a driving bike in my opinion, the large rear tire let it fall in the corners and I'm allways happy that I'm back home and could take out
a Sportster or the Bob.

OK good point I guess this is my stuff:

1. Stable when stopped, not wobbly like I found the Slim......thought at a few stio lights I was going to tip it over, scary
2. Able to easily flatfoot.
3. Easy to ride like my 48.....not sure how to explain that. Slim too seem to have an odd clutch.
4. Decent not insane power.
5. Looks, well maybe,

Thats maybe my top 5
Test ride the Lowrider, it ticks most of those, you will have noticed the power increase on any of the M8's.
They're on the lower end of the pricing to fit your budget
A few of they guys have changed the bars to customise the riding position

OP......you need to apply a price point. If not, you are going to get suggestions all over the map. Is the Street Bob your upper limit in price? If so, I'd just hold on to the 48 until you are comfortable with getting what you really want new or used.

I don't know if it would clear on a 2018, but on my 2015 Low Rider I went from stock, to slightly wider to pick up just about 1/2" section width. As I recall, from 100/90/19 to 110/80/19. (You will want to double check that) Diameter was within a couple of 1/1oths of an inch. Easy workaround to cure the concern over the "skinny" front tire. I did it to have less tracking in ruts. Seems to have helped. Filled out the fender well a bit more with no apparent downside. Nominal price point upgrade.

Good luck on your decision.

Yeah have ridden the lrider but the seating and mid mount controls were just too hard for me to adapt to with my knees above the tank.

The Deluxe was very good but too pricey and really more than I need.

In the end I got so fed up I took my 48 in got Stage 1 & 2 done, resprayed tank & fenders in Wicked Red, whitewalls from Metzeler and mini apes and I could not be happier. Maybe do a bigger tank sometime in the future,

I loved the bike before but now it looks fantastic and has that bit of extra grunt and just too easy to toss around. Very happy.
