So, this is my Quarantine Project. I have a 5 Gallon tank, and the 11” wide 09 HD Softail Bobtail Fender.

I just opened a box from Vulcan, it will De-Rake the Springer 4.5*.

so, I shopped Hard for the 09 CVO. I have an 07 Springer CVO, you would Think I’d be happy, a 200 tire is Awesome. It’s Awesome until you see a 240 tire. The 110” Motor is Great, until you feel how smooth an M-8 motor rides.

So, let’s Build Exactly what I want.
2018 BreakOut 114
FX Springer (de-raked)
Fat to Thin (Heart Shaped) 5 Gallon tank
BobTail Fender
Drop the rear 1.5”

so, still working out the details on the Gauge Mount between 3.5” risers and Springers 4 ¾” spaced risers.

still trying to figure out the front brakes. The HD single piston front brake sucks.

still trying to think of how to mount a Stock Springer gender to work on a 130/21 front wheel.

Good luck with your conversion, I have owned a couple of springers and remain a big fan. I hope your de-rake works out with the Breakout and handling is as good as an original springer. One thing about the brakes, I probably wouldn't spend much on upgrading. The reason you never see a springer with twin front brakes is that you can readily lock up the front wheel with the original brake. The front wheel winds up skipping along the road instead of stopping any faster. Improved pads or even a caliper upgrade might modulate better or bite quicker, but you'll still reach the limit of tire adhesion sooner than you'd like. Obviously the springers still stop way better than the old drum brake models, just need to remain alert.

Looking good on the stance, rather prefer that cvo rear fender than the M8 breakout or fatboy designs

I have never heard about the 2009 CVO Springer. I got so excited when I read you saying it had a bobtail fender with a 240mm tire.. but ehhhhh it's that hideous smooth style one rather than the nice curvy one from the 2007 - 2009 FSXT. I wish there was a 2007 FXST-looking fender that could fit a 240mm tire. I want one for my 2020 Fat Boy so bad. I don't know why there's no market for bobtail fenders anymore. Only those garbage tire-huggers.

I couldn’t just “Slide The Springer On”. Rear Leg won’t clear the forks too on the lower frame Neck. I reused the Breakout Neck Bearing. (Funny how gentle you can be with an Air Chisel) I slide the Vulcan Stem into the Neck, slid the Rear Leg onto the stem. Then Tighten the lower Stem set screw. (Very Important that you “Clock” the stem Exactly front/back. If it’s off a tiny bit, good luck with your Top Clamp.

I did a Full Service on the Lower Rockers. Really smooth now.

This is a Money-Pic for Vulcan. Nice Rake. Noticeable,.... but Now WOW. And Too much rake ( as Mean as it looks) can make the forks “Floppy”

So, the Breakout 21x3.5” wheel has One Inch wheel bearings. And this Springer is a ¾” Axel. I found some Reducers. They are listed 25mm to ¾” and Also listed 1” to 3:4” Wheel Bearing Spacer. Yeah, bought them on eBay. Dumb. Really Dumb. I bought both (I didn’t know if I had 1” or 25mm Axel) and Both sets came. Same part#. And,.. uhhh,.... No they Don’t fit. I put a sanding wheel on my hand grinder. Then, put the spacer on a Socket Extension (so it can Spin) then surfaced it a bit.

Still Fitting,... fender is Mounted. I need to wire it. The Tank, I’m trying to decide between a Dash or smooth.

I Almost have the wheel centered. I can’t use the FX Springer Fender, it’s for a 90 tire, and I’m running a 130 wide front. This Breakout Tire is 5” wide. The FatBoy front fender will work, I just can’t get past the Flat center on a round tire.
