2. skull turn signal lenses:
open JP cycles catalog
order
wait
pull old lenses and bulbs out
lenses come with new low profile bulbs.
instal new ones.
cost = real close to fifty bucks
Bending over the license bracket is a good cheap one
that shows your skill at savin the bux.

If you wanna start getting into the catalog
there's something on every page for under 50,
but none of them are the self modifications wanted here.

Nice step by step outlining the process though.

Nice clean looking job Varmint.

I've got the forward controls on my Dyna. Finally got tired of looking at that ugly shifter connecting rod, it's not chrome, not black, just ugly a$$ pig metal.

Took it off the other day, sanded it down, and put a rattle can coat of satin black on it. Now it blends in with the engine yet just enough contrast that you can see it if you're looking.

Cost = $0.00.....had the rattle can on the shelf for several months.

I'll get around to posting a pic someday....

Ok here we go, I took a slightly diff aproach because of ... laziness?I do have a welder but I opted for epoxie(this is what they are making airliner struts outnow days so its strong stuff, strong as steel) and a large vise but it was cold in the garage
So, I taped off the key and put it in a visegrip and grinded on the bench grinder down to the diameter of my drill bit, it looked like a 1/4 but I just put it against the bullit and picked it that way... I also ground a few nubs so the insert would grab the epoxie inside the bulit well.

Igrabbed my bullit key ring and tools shown in the first pic and brought them to the bedroom
I took the bullit and put her in a paper towel folded 10-12 times and put the vise grips on it again then drilled out the casing end
the round was thicker than I thought maybe 5/16th thick on the end?? So, I had both pieces ready, the bullit and the key. I went to the work truck and got some steel epoxie out. This comes in little tubes and its a 2 part epxy but you kneed it between your fingers and it hardens in like 4 mins after that. I twisted it into a long worm and stuffed it into the casing then took a finish nail and packed it and repeated till it was full. Then I stuffed the key handle down in the epoxie.... that was it. its really cool ,I am not gonna do the other ones till I get some more keys made because it may be hard to copy the key with a bullit on the handle..

this is a easy mod when you get started I say 40 mins at most and about 6-7 bucks in parts including the key.
Key 3. bux
bullit 2.50
epoxie enough to do 50 keys 6 bucks...

Good job Thomas. Thanks for the detailed step by step.

Several ways to do the keys, this is a good one.

Nice to see folks following up on some of these underfifties..

Varmint just showed one a little earlier.

Not bad Tom, told you those Federal case headswere going to be thick.
When I resize cases for reloading, I have noticed that the .38 or .357Mag.made byFederaldon't seem to need it as much as some other makers.

I am still looking for another oil cap that I can make a knife out of and also the hidden bottle opener when I find the parts.
I relocated my horn and put it behind a lower fairing/airdam I installed and I have just about decided I dont care for it.
I saw a guy put like a splashguard/skidplate on his down tubes at the lower, I have 2 stainless steel license plates, I am going to cut
a skidplate out of one, I want to make it so it mounts like the airdam, it is attached with just one allenhead with a bolt thro the factory hole on the crossmember. I want to make it so it clips in the rearsomewhere? and bends up and attachesto the crossmemberwith just one fastener. I will post the mod when do it, I need to decide exactly how I am going to go about it. Ideas, as always, are appreciated.

This thread is the best, lots of meat for the stew.
