Default Switching front wheel questions

I have the parts and service manual on order. I have bought a OEM stock mag wheel with 3/4 bearing as I have a 04. While waiting for my manuals, I have tried to look up part numbers on the HD web site and it looks like the spacers are the same for both the laced and stock mag wheel. Is this true ?? I would like to have all the parts when I do the switch. The way it looks, it will be an easy swap from the 21 laced to the 19 mag. Thanks in advance for all your help and advice, it has really been helpful and with out it I could not got as far with this project.

Be Safe JIM

Jim,
I read about the swap on another HD site. Looks like it's a straight forward swap. What did you not like about the 21 if I may ask?

I just don't like the thin tire, plus I don't like TUBES, can't fix on the road. Nothing wrong with the 21, just my personal preference.

When you change to the 19 inch wheel, if for some reason the nut on the axel doesn't fit all of the way, you will have to get a different spacer. I made a change, I thought it was the wrong axel when the nut wouldn't go on all of the way, ordered a new one. The axels were both the same size, so I had to get different spacers. This probably won't happen to you. For some reason things like this just happens to me!

did you install the axle correctly?
you need to let the clamp side (loose) then torque axle nut and then draw the clamp side up.

43358-00 is the right hand spacer and 43617-00A the left but does anyone have the dimensions please? I have several spacers here but I'm not sure which one goes where... doh! I've got the parts book and the H-D manual but the pics aren't that informative.

(This is actually for a 2000 FXDX - same P/Ns. I'm changing back to the stock 19" cast wheel.)

Well... after a bit more research it looks like I might have found the answer myself! I got the dimensions from online aftermarket catalogues and it looks like the lengths are 0.515" for 43617-00 and 0.141" for 43358-00. Just need to check I have those now...! :-)
