Default power commander V on X-bones

Anyone got a PC-V on their crossbones? I installed mine last night. I was wondering if anyone who may have one could pop off their seat and post a pic. I just wanna make sure mine is right. It seems to be good, but I can definitely tell its there when I put the seat back on. I am running a brawler seat.

Dude, when I emailed Power commander they told me they didn't recommend it for my bike cause of fitment. I hope it works good for you. You are obviously more creative than I. That was the reason I didn't use it, it was a deal breaker.
We do not recommend a product for the Crossbones models due to the difficulty in physically mounting our unit on the bike. We could not find a suitable mounting location that the average rider could use without substantial disassembly of the bike and rear wheel assembly. That being said many of the professional shops have used the units successfully, but have used their own creativity for mounting the unit. Our pre developed map # M813-020 is the closest to your setup that we currently have available in our map database library. The air flow characteristics between the two setups should be similar enough for the map to work for you as a starting point. I am attaching a document that details map development and provides guidelines to follow when selecting an alternate map and making adjustments if necessary. This should clarify my alternate suggestion for you. You also always have the option to have the bike dyno tuned and custom mapped specifically for your bike's setup and or riding style if you like at one of our approved tuning centers in your local area if you want to get it 100% optimized. If you have any more questions let us know.
Regards,
Stan Lass

I think that is mainly due to the factory seat set up. Since I have a brawler, I can't imagine its much different than any other softail. It seems to be OK on mine for know

I have an update from Jamie at Fuelmoto. He told me a way to stuff it all under the seat. It sounds like if you do it this way, you may even be able to still use the bracket that holds the ECM in place. If I do it and it works out, I will let you all know and post up picks. To get the box that holds the relays out of the metal bracket, it just pops out toward the front of the bike right????

I have one on my Bones, got it from FuelMoto too and just followed their instructions. It sits on top of the battery, you do have to move the ECM plate but was straightforward although it is a tight squeeze. I have a Badlander seat on mine which should be the same as the Brawler underneath I think. Cant post a picture tonight I'm afraid but will try tomorrow if you still need one.

Mine is under there now according to the softail instructions, it just seems like the way Jamie said to do it would allow the use of the bracket....could you post the pics tomorrow?

sorry for my computer illiteracy but I cant seem to attach the picture as it is too big, and I'm not sure how to make it smaller in file size. If you want to PM me an email address I'll send to you that way.

Here are some pics of my PCIII mounted under my Cross Bones seat. I removed the metal bracket that holds the fuse box. This allows the fuse box to be pushed father down about an inch. Then I trimmed off the 3 middle fins from the plastic cover. This gives me just enough room to place the PCIII on top of the battery and squeeze the cover back on. Over 10k miles since install with no problems.

I was going to get a PC-V... but after doing a search and reading this post, I'm thinking twice.
What's the next best FI Tuner that actually fits a FLSTSB?
