So you were able to fit both the 4180 and the fix on the amp tray BT uses?

If you update the Fix firmware, you can do the calibration from the laptop with the Tun software.
I'm aware about needing to update the Fix firmware. Does the Fix 86 come with a software disc for the Tun? I looked on the JL Audio website and all I could find was a "demo" version of the software.

No. The 4180 is on the BT amp tray. The Fix 86 is vertical where the CB module was.

I will try to find a pic I used as reference to mod my tray...

Funny you asked... I had already downloaded the Demo and played around with it. When I got the Fix all installed and ready to turn everything on I looked all over for how to connect. I ended up calling JL Audio and the tech dude was like "the demo IS the software. You have to update the firmware first."

So, download the Tun demo.
In the install it will also include the Firmware updater.
Follow the steps on the JL site to update the firmware.
Once the firmware is current, the demo software will add a button for the connected Fix.

Also, I tried to just copy the Calibration audio file off of the included disc to a USB but the HU wouldn't play it.

I had to rip the disc into Itunes to convert the files to mp3 so they would play.

Not to hard, but an extra step none the less.

Disclaimer: these are not my pics...I 'acquired' them from searching this forum.

I fully removed the stock tray above the radio and cut out the offending area as in the first pic.

Here you go guys, here's the link (bottom of page) for the calibration track. Just download to a flash drive and play. Also this link details the process to calibrate. Once you have the DSP hooked up from the computer you can choose to calibrate from the software. It makes it easier.

Ylu can calibrate it with the bike off. Once your happy with the sound, run the bike then adjust the eq accordingly.

This will do me... for a while at least.

Yes very easy.. hardest part is fitting it into fairing, but it is doable when the need is strong! :-)
Great job brother. Looks great and very creative on the location. Be sure to click on the 3 little bars next to the wording "OUTPUTS". This will open up The voltage adjustments to match EACH speaker. I'd suggest running around 500mv and step up if needed THEN tune the eq. You will know you have the proper voltage out of your able to obtain max vol w/o distortion and it sounds good.

Now that I DIDN'T know!

I have to go tinker again!

I have the Fix installed with a USB coming into the glove box next to the radio, but adjusting will require re-tuning the NVX amp.

...It is funny how fairing removal becomes as easy as opening the tour pack after a while!!

and a here is a proper Thank You for the stolen pic Matt

I tried this, but the link at the bottom of that page is a .wav file and won't play on the Boom HU so I just ripped the cd. ...did I miss something there?
