Any word on the replacement harness and how to get on the list?

Do we need to send someone an email or call in?

Check the harness on the straight HD input harness. If there is a pig tail on it, unplug it and plug into the rca input. I almost started to rewire mine not looking at the hd harness. The jumper was attached to that.

I am getting ready to add to my system and I swear I get more confused the more I read. My end speaker setup looks like it will be 4 MPX 165's up front and 2 MM692's in the lids. I Would really like to run only 1 amp, and I have an aftermarket HU (Sony). I am looking at the BT 4180, the BT 4250 amp, this Focal amp and the PN4.1000D. I'm obviously going to run the fronts in parallel. Which amp is best and is the sound quality really better on the 3 higher priced amps than the SoundStream? I was ready to get the Focal a few weeks ago after reading through this thread and the more I read on the 4250 I'm starting to second guess myself! I like that the PN4.1000D is cheaper, but don't mind spending the extra if it's the best choice. I want to do this once! I also liked the simplicity of the 4180....right now I have the 2180 and 1 set of MPX 165's but want lowers and lids. All advice is appreciated!

I don't think any amp will run 4 mpx 165.3's off 2 channels. Those things require a LOT of power. I will also say that the focal amp and the mpx 165.3 combo is not a good mix as both are very crisp and not warm. That combo is extremely loud and can be heard at any speed but the highs are ear piercing at higher volumes. If that is your listening style then you should be good but those mpx 165.3's will take all 4 channels to make them sound good and not in a parallel configuration.

I was wondering about the power issue. I can run 2 amps if I have to but I would really like to keep everything in the fairing. That was the main reason for wanting to run 1 amp...don't want to lose bag space. I had thought about keeping the 2180 for the MM692's and getting a 4180 for the MPX 165's but wasn't sure if they would both fit in the fairing. HU is the Sony M71BT if that matters

I would have to say that a 4180 and 2180 would fit all day with very little creativity. I have a 13 and know I could fit 2 4180 amps without any trouble what so ever. Could probably put a 3rd under the head unit also.

Question Focal Sport....

Hey Tailwind did you have your radio flashed or use a BT line level for this Focal Sport Amp? Currently running the J&M 500 watt amp in my 2014 Streetglide Special and thinking about getting amp but for the money is it worth it?

Thanks,
Cool Poppa

Radio is flashed but using a DSP instead of the BT355.

This is an awesome amp for my setup but it really depends on what speakers you are going with.
