Default Amp setting with BT355 LL

Hello,

I know the topic of adjusting line levelers has been brought up a lot but wondering if i can get some help regarding gain on the amp.

I have a soundigital evo 800.4s amp and using the BT355 with break out harness for front/rear amp output. According to the amps instructions for setting gain, i disconnect all speakers and run a 60hz wave through the radio at 3/4 volume and measure output voltage at each channel. The target voltage it wants me to get is 20 volts AC. The issue here is even with the amp gain all the way up, the max voltage i can get is around 16 volts AC. I backed the gain off to about 6.5 volts and that put me about 45% on the gain. Listening to the music play, it is clear and i can not pick up any distortion at all. Amp puts out 110 rms per chanel and all my speakers are rated well above that.

This leads me to my question. Should I adjust the gain on the line levelers and then readjust my amp voltage? I am thinking the line leveler gain is restricting the voltage input and wondering if it is making the amp work to hard. Any help from you gurus would be much appreciated.

Use 1000hz. There should be a tuning sticky at the top that will walk u thru everything.

It is the evo 800.4S. 4 ohm. fairing speakers are hertz sv165 Neo 4ohm. Front horns are diamond audio MO75t. Saddle bag speakers are diamond audio MP694 co-ax horn speaker 4 ohm.

Did you buy all equipment from one place or did you piece together? Just thinking you might be a little light on power for that setup.

I bought it all at one place Sir. Comparing what each speaker is rated at rms, i am underpowered in the front. Rear speakers are 150 rms, front is also 150 rms but the MO75T are rated 50 rms. The amp is rated 110 rms for each channel. So the front is a little under powered to the rear since the horn and speaker are sharing a channel. I put a resistor on the horn so it wasnt so bright against the mid speaker. The only real way to level everything would be to put another amp just for the front horns. Anything higher then the 800 amp would over power the front horn. Maybe in the future i will see about adding a 250.2 amp.

i am not looking to enter sound competitions. Just need something i can hear clearly while cruising since i wear ear plugs. The system sounds way better then my boom 2 setup that was previously in the bike.
