thanks for all the replies so far,,,,mid bass is what i'm looking for as far as i can tell, mid bass is in the 50-60hz - 2.5khz, correct? I understand that i'll never get car-audio subwoofer type bass,,,,,28hz-45hz,,,,,,but just a tad above that,,,,

Bike has a great front end, has 6x9's in the lids with tweet bridges and horns (horns are not on the same channel, just located over the DD vo6x9s). Can anyone give me some direction on a speaker that sounds clear and loud in that range? gonna get another amp just to drive it with so that i can tune it correctly. DSP is coming in the near future so that should give me what i need to dial it in. I've learned so much from my time here, but it was more focused on the rest of the bike, now i just need the finishing touch. (MORE BASS).
I ride this bike a lot, but not really on long trips,,,,plan to set it up that if i need the space, i can swap a different bag in and live without the bass, but for my everyday, I'd like to get a bit more,,,,,the full system list in on the thread about comprehensive member systems if you need to full rundown on the current set up,,,,,but i'd like to think it's pretty well powered and balanced. Please direct me!!!
thanks
marco
How much power are you giving the VO 6X9 in the lids.
With a good tune and the right power those speakers produce some pretty dam good lower mid bass.

I've tried 3 differentset ups on the VO's......first was with Ss pn4.1000, one one speaker on its own channel, no eq unit, advertised 140 watts, didn't do an ac volt reading, result, so so. Next was mmats md4100, no eq, each channel, guessing 100-125 watts, soso. Next was md4100 bridged, advertised power is 340 watts, no eq, louder, but no better sound quality, and after speaking with Kevin @DD we both thought that that was too much power to feed them for very long, current, back to unbridged MD4100, one on each channel, with the EQ unit(mmats meq7), so far this is the best sound and volume, i'll try to get an ac voltage reading later today to try to get an idea of actually how many watts they are getting fed in the current set up.

quick and dirty dynamic test with leads on speaks while playing loud and with all the instruments going at once it was getting 22 volts ac, so roughly 125 watts, with the eq in play.

I went with some PRV Forte 8s and they take up less room than I thought. They hit hard ainstill need to do some dialing in but so far I’m impressed
