Default New Amp/ Speakers on 2003 Electra Glide

So I recently got my first Harley. A 2003 Electra Glide. I am upgrading the stereo with a hogtunes 4 channel Amp, hogtunes tweeter Pod and Hogtunes replacement fairing speakers. The instructions for the tweeter pod say to run its wires in parallel with the fairing speakers. My question is can I run each set of speakers directly to the amp since I do have 4 channels available? Also, let it be known that audio/ electronics are not really my strong suit lol. Thanks everyone

Haven’t received the speakers yet, nor have I installed the tweeter pod. I actually began installation today and come to find out there was an amp and aftermarket speakers already in there! The speakers are BikeTronics titan 2’s. Amp is a Rockford Fosgate. I’m scrapping the amp and most likely keeping the BikeTronics speakers. The main reason I was upgrading was because at high volume, the speakers would crack and distort! I’m thinking the amp that I took out wasn’t adjusted correctly or something because after reading reviews of them, I’m reading that they’re way better than hogtunes. Feel free to chime in lol

I ran the Titan IIs off a Cerwin Vega B52 and it was ok. A little on the bright side for my ears but not the worst setup I have heard.

If you could send the HogTunes stuff back and ditch what's in the fairing now, what kind of budget would you have to work with and what speaker locations would you want to upgrade?

So ditch the biketronics speakers and the Rockford Fosgate amp and send the hogtunes stuff back? The hogtunes stuff had some great reviews. Assuming I could send everything back, I’d have roughly $700 to play with and could add a bit more for something that’s going to be rocking. And I am only doing the fairing speakers. I don’t have any rear speakers, nor do I plan on adding them

Much better sounding stuff out there than the Hogtunes stuff when you know what to look for. The guys giving good reviews on Hogtunes and J&M stuff, have obviously not heard any of the stuff that is around these days. Newer better technology.
if you can send your Hogtunes back, that opens up slot of options. New, still in the box, hopefully you can return them.
You can also sell off your old stuff coming out of your bike. Someone is always willing to buy up old gear it seams.

Mmats PA 601.cx would be a great fairing speaker.
Amp - CV B52 amp or a NVX Vadm4 would give you lots of power.
That would easily fit into your budget.
We all start off saying we only want 2 speakers, or 4 speakers, and nothing in our bags, but this does get addicting.

Future consideration:
A set of lowers with speaker pods and an extra set of Mmats would be an awesome add on in the future if you decide you want a little more. If you added anything in the future you could upgrade to a 4 channel amp, or you could probably hook up a second set of Mmats to the CV B52 and run it in 2ohm in the future.

First of all, what head unit are you running? As others have stated, the hog tunes stuff just isn't as good as stated so send it back. If running a stock head unit, I would consider upgrading it to aftermarket as that alone will provide a better SQ to your setup regardless of amp and speakers. If running stock head unit, upgrade it to a sony mex 100bt as that has 5v preouts for better SQ. A good amp is next. If you EVER plan on adding lowers or rear lid speakers then buy a good 4 channel amp to start with and be done with an amp. A cv b-52 is only a 2 channel amp and wont provide any future expansion. A vadm4 is a solid little amp but not powerful enough for a 4 channel setup. Spend a bit more for a stinger or mmats 4110 to begin with and you wont need to upgrade the amp later on. WDX gen 2 or mmats pa601cx speakers with either amp mentioned above will provide a solid warm sound that gets loud. Spend a bit more to begin with and no need to upgrade later. Nothing wrong with what has been suggested but as stated, this stuff can get addicting real fast and I have seen guys upgrading amps left and right. In my experience, just get the amp and head unit needed for future to begin with and be done.
