In May 2018 I purchased a new 2018 Limited with the 6.5GT Boom Box system. Recently the system has been malfunctioning. When the bike is first started, the touch screen does not respond to touch. I can still navigate the screen by use of the thumb joy stick. After riding the bike for 10 to 15 minutes, the screen will start to respond to touch. Another issue is while the screen is in the navigation mode, it will jump from map mode to the maneuvers screen repeatedly without my input. When I spoke to the dealer, they indicated that there was no serviceable parts and I could update my system to the new GTS system for a modest $2,000. Anybody else have similar issues with their system. Any suggestions.

 

Have you made sure your software is up to date? If so, maybe its a buggy patch and you could try to revert to a previous version of your software to see if it fixes your issues.

 

Yes, according to the Harley website, I have the most up to date software loaded. Actually, I updated the software earlier this year. These issues only recently surfaced, well after I updated the software.

 

Then I'd at least go back the previous version and see if the issues go away.

 

If you don't have the earlier versions, let me know - I believe I still have them.

You can try reverting back to older versions of firmware, but I doubt it will fix your problem. If you stick around and watch the classified section, you may come across a boom 6.5gt used for WAY less than $2K
