Lightbulb Songs to Test/Tune/Show off your system with…

After seeing some listed in a few scattered threads and videos, I thought we could make a list here of our recommendations.

Here are a few I have collected so far,

Hotel California – Eagles - Hell Freezes Over Album
Money for Nothing – Dire Straights
Simple Man – Shinedown
DJ Snake, Lil Jon – Turn Down for What

I kind of thought something similar. I was tuning an amp (just gain) for the first time ever and just when I thought I had it I’d skip to the next song and get distortion. Thought there has to be a go to song that people use

I use songs and genres that I predominately listen to, to tune. What better way than tune to what you like.

Showoff songs, I don't REALLY listen to.

I have found old school music to tune by include:
Sledgehammer and Spinning wheels for the horns(highs)
Billy Jean ( the beginning) for the pounding lows
Hotel California and fly my to the moon frank Sinatra for the mids (vocals)
These can get my setup tuned just about perfect as long as they are good quality audio (192kb or better)

I play around with a lot of songs. Most have already been mentioned. One mistake I was making early on was trying to get songs to sound good, but that were not a good match to my system.

For example, my current system is Hertz HCX 6.5's in the fairing, Hertz HCX 690s in the lids, SD 800.4, Sont MEX-GS810BT HU. Trying to get a real bass heavy song like Turn Down for What or Downtown by Mackemore to sound good on my system is pretty pointless. On the other hand, Money for Nothing or a lot of Foo Fighters songs sound great.

I'm not trying to say you shouldn't play around with any song you want, just adjust your expectation of how it should sound based on the system you are running.
