Best way I can describe the sound without a video at this point in time is that it sounds like a 4 stroke dirt bike under light load.

Always worth a second look.

.
Is there any difference if the accelerator pump is turned off or wide open when blipping the motor?

Yes the lag definitely decreases when seeing more fuel to the spray. My assumption that .28 is to small for my setup and that .295 is in line with what everyone else was mentioning.

So I got to take the bike out on a ride and I did notice slight hesitation, but that could also be due to too much free play at the throttle (didn't have time to adjust) 😜 Power seemed great when under acceleration. I also took note that I did not once carb fart. What seemed like a major carb fart issue only happened with quick blips of the throttle while not under load.

I'm having the same problem with mine. My engine is a stage 2 evo, .031 int, 68 main and a 130 air bleed. Was out riding today and got it good and hot, the mixture screw is 1.5 or so turns out and I got my accel pump screw 2 1/4 turns. When I blip the throttle it just doesn't have very good response. No decel backfiring, just a tiny bit of popping. Sitting here scratching my head.

Okay, finally a decent update. I took the time to read the S&S manual and redid everything from the baseline of:

intermediate jet: .295
Main jet: .70

I was getting carb popping at around the 1.5 turns out from lightly seated but not anything pass that. Changed to:

intermediate jet: .31
Main jet: .70

So I rode around testing with accelerator pump off and got no popping down to about 1 turn, from which now I run at 1.25 turns out from lightly seated.

My question for all you carb gurus, what color should I be getting on the base ring when testing for jetting on the intermediate circuit? Once I figured out the idle mixture I then:

I'm getting a very light tan around the base ring.

Few quick dyno runs would have your bike in good shape, in short order.

With today's fuels it really is a little hard to determine the burn by looking at the plugs.. if you don't have a Wego exhaust gas analyzer them a Dyno would set it straight. The days of looking at the plugs are long gone along with leaded fuel...

Can you recommend or help me find a way to locate a tuner with dyno access?
