Default Help?

So I’m a new rider any am currently learning how to work on my bike. I was cleaning the carburetor and accidentally broke what I believe is either a main/pilot jet while putting everything back together. Does anyone have any advice as to removing the broken one ir what my next step should be? I have a 2006 sportster xl1200
Thank you in advance

I accidentally overly tightened it when screwing it back in. I will post a picture once I’ve located where my husband left it.

There are several ways to go about it depending exactly how it's broken. Vice grips that aren't worn out on the tips work well. The treads on the tiny part (1) cannot stick so if it turns the least little bit, it'll come right out.

Worst case you can't, use vice grips and grab it on the larger part of 1 and unscrew it. Both parts are easy to buy and not expensive. If you unscrew the big part, there's a silver tube in there that might fall out. If so. don't lose it and remember the longer section with larger diameter goes UP. If you forget just ask again later.

Please feel free to post a photo when you can.
We love photos here.

You must arm wrestle. Don't go crazy on parts inside a carburetor. Especially dissimilar metals like brass and aluminum.

Apologies. That photo was of one that had an aftermarket (dynojet) kit in it. That main jet holder is round.

If yours has the original, it will have a hex and you can simply use a wrench or socket, 7/16" if memory serves. Use a 6-point if you have one.

OEM type

Unfortunately I cannot find the head that broke off, but I believe it was the original as it had a hexagon shape with the numbers 180 on it
