best answer would be to try it yourself and see...not like a can of Pledge is a big investment.

Be prepare though for the results...like myself and many others skeptics.... :-)

I tried the pledge on my Vivid Black and not impressed at all. Smears on and hard to wipe off. It looks good after that second wipe down with a fresh towel but just too much work. There are many other products that work much better. I did try that bugslide and like it. I purchased the little travel bottle and have cleaned my bike 3 times with 2oz. I like the single wipe on process and it wipes the bugs right off. Not as cheap as the cheap furniture polish but i don't get bugs on my coffee table either.

Give the multi-surface pledge a try. I've never used the lemon scented or regular pledge but can tell you the multi-surface doesn't smear, just about evaporates as you wipe.

I tried it on chrome and it worked but 3 days later it got a blue haze on it.
No more pledge.

Back in the early 80's I use to spray my whole bike down before winter storage with pledge, I would spray it on and not wipe it off, it protects it from moisture..in the spring hit the bike with a pressure washer. This idea has been around a long time

Stopped today for gas and they were having a car show. This guy comes up to me and my son and asks if he can show us how is miracle spray works. I say sure spray it on my sons bike a 34 year old Honda. The shine perked right up. Not to be rude, I took his number but remembered reading this this. Got home, sprayed the old Honda down with Pledge and wow, it looks like a 4 year old bike not 34. $3.68 for Pledge and the car show $12.

I can hardly believe this thread went 18 pages before anyone mentioned dirt and rags. Wiping your bike with a rag is the worst thing you can do to chrome or paint when it's dirty: that's how you sand in the swirl marks.
MANY years ago, in the Triumph Bobber days, me and a bud bought sidepipes. About 6 months later his looked new and my identical pipes looked like satin. I had been wiping them off and he used water pressure, not rags. And chrome is tougher than paint.

I used the Honda cleaner/polish. Stuff works great. Safe on all surfaces. Microfiber towel and done. Of course, my bike is/was clean prior to use. Try it!! I just couldn't bring myself to use pledge on my HD. Got the Honda Cleaner/Polish on line for about $5 a can free shipping.
